This is the official whitepaper of MetaNations®. Its goal is to outline our vision and explain the foundations of the universe we have been creating. MetaNations® will be one of the fastest-changing games ever created, and we reserve the right to make amendments to this document at any time based on the new developments that our team makes to the game and its future plans.

MetaNations® is a virtual world where players can build, own, and monetize their gaming experiences in the Binance Smart Chain using MENA, the platform’s utility token. Our vision is to offer a deeply immersive metaverse in which players can build a saga collaboratively and without a central authority. We are aiming to disrupt the existing games like Civilization by providing creators true ownership of their creations as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and rewarding their work and ingenuity with our utility token - MENA. In the current game market, the centralized ownership and control of user-generated content limit creator rights and ownership. Central control over the trading of virtual goods created by players restricts them from generating fair value for their creations. Compounding this, it can be difficult to prove creative ownership of works, especially as content is copied, altered, and built upon. With MetaNations®, we aim to overcome these limitations while accelerating blockchain adoption to grow the blockchain gaming market. We will do this by building an ecosystem where players can live out their metaverse ambitions by playing, collecting, crafting, and trading while enjoying secure copyright ownership with the ability to earn cryptocurrency. This copyright ownership will be established and guaranteed through the use of NFTs, where every in-game item - including land and other types of property - will have a unique and immutable blockchain identifier.

Gameplay in the WORLD

In the WORLD, players are Faction Leaders. Every new player spawns in a random area and controls 10 NPCs. All factions start as Nomads, who can typically only chop trees for wood, mine for iron, and gather consumables from the ground. All the commodities and consumables gathered by the NPCs of a player’s faction and later the items they craft will land in a player’s Chest. A faction with no City cannot be attacked but results in more limits to gameplay. The natural course of most players will be to obtain land and build a City, as it will offer significantly more opportunities to have fun and to earn. You can increase the level of your City by making it more sophisticated, i.e. by having more buildings and activity happening in it. Your City level will dictate the level of your NPCs. NPC levels determine their total health.
